Double Check Your Facts…

Okay traveling friends, this is going to be a bit more of an informative blog rather than an adventure post

So as most of you know, if you’ve been reading through this blog for any amount of time, that traveling as a family or as a mom with a small child I always try to find the most economical way of traveling. Searching for the best ticket prices, doing my research, talking to locals, ect. Well on this trip I haven’t been as good with my due diligence with traveling on a budget as I normally am.

Here are some tips about traveling to Fiji and doing tours and to save you from learning the hard way like we did. If you are traveling to Fiji – DO NOT BOOK ON THE RESORT! There is a significant price mark up of a lot of the tours, though you generally get the whole package of food, tour and transportation.

The price mark up is vast if you were to book through sites like TripAdvisor.com or even if you were to find a travel information center, get as far away from the tourist hubs as possible. The locals here know that you have money to spend and they know that you probably don’t want to be rude by contesting their prices so they can mark it up all they want.

We booked all our tours through Rosie Holiday Tours, a good company and I do like how we were able to move around and cancel some tours with ease. And I will say, when you are booking for a group of 7 adults and 1 toddler having ease is worth the extra pricing. These tips all depend on how you travel, if you like to see a lot while saving money during your travels, if you like to lavish a little and have peace of mind – I would suggest going through Rosie Holiday Tours.

There are a lot of different sites you can research and book through so make sure you do your homework before leaving. I think the reason why I wasn’t as adamant about finding the cheapest tours and activities for this trip is because there were so many things I had to do for the family before this trip – I just wanted to make sure I got us here.
