Is There A Cloud 10?…

November 25, 2018 3 min read No Comments

This is it! I have truly found heaven on earth! And it isn’t even on land! Do I have you hooked yet? Well hook, line and sinker let’s dive into where in the world this heaven has landed!

As our trip continues on we have gone on many adventures; from land to sea, mountains to sunken ships we have seen and done it all…or so we thought! Today we went on a fantastic adventure that took us to a place called Cloud 9. The name alone tells you that we are going to be going to a place that is revered as being one of the top locations to visit while in Nadi but now we know why. 20181110_1005237367056487593882575.jpg

Cloud 9 is Fiji’s only two level floating platform with an internationally stocked bar and Italian wood-fired pizzeria surrounded by turquoise blue water and picturesque views. Which means that you can go snorkeling to the surrounding reefs by just taking one big leap of faith off the top deck, enjoy delicious Italian styled wood-fired pizza while sipping on an adult beverage soaking up the endless turquoise blue water. 20181110_122730(0)4742312351705498555.jpg

This is every adult’s play day! This is one of the only activities we did that had an age limit, no one under the age of seven is permitted on board because it is set for an adult atmosphere. 20181110_1016413529783725484839326.jpg

As we arrived we could see how this floating paradise was even a thing! There are three anchors that keep, basically (easiest way to sum it up) is, the barge grounded to one location on the reef. If you got high enough you can see shaded colors of blue from the shallowest portions of the reef to where you can see it gets deeper out to sea. 20181110_1226513608142399094961255.jpg

After arriving and claiming our spot looking out over the water I found myself not wanting to move. Not that it was a difficult ride out to the barge (though depending on where you sit it might be a damp ride) but my heart and soul were being filled with the endless sight of crystal blue waters. If I looked straight down I could see all the little fish swimming around all the way down to the ocean floor. 20181110_12275751483466410139191.jpgAs you can see it wouldn’t take long for someone to get sunburned out on the front lower deck but not to worry if you are easily burned, not only does Fiji sell 110 SPF but they also have areas where you can stay in the shade and aren’t being blasted with sun all the time…or you can just go hang out at the bar or take a refreshing dip in the ocean.

This was truly the closest experience to heaven on earth I’ve had on this entire trip, this was one of the few days of the trip that we had been out on the ocean and didn’t have crazy wind or turbulence which made the water clarity fairly good but if you aren’t a strong swimmer stay close to the barge because the natural currents out there make it tough for a less seasoned or strong swimmer.

That’s all for now stay tuned for a night of culture and dancing to come!
