Wander Through Ancient Streets:

Step back in time as you meander through the ancient streets of Hoi An. The town’s well-preserved architecture showcases a blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and European influences. Stroll along the narrow alleys adorned with lanterns and colorful buildings, and you’ll feel like you’ve entered a living museum. Don’t miss the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge symbolizing Hoi An’s history and prosperity. This is my favorite part of visiting any city when I am traveling, getting lost, and finding some really amazing things along the way!

Visit the Hoi An Ancient Town:

The Hoi An Ancient Town is a must-visit destination designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the numerous historic buildings, temples, assembly halls, and museums that offer insight into Hoi An’s past as a bustling trading port. The fusion of architectural styles and the serene atmosphere make this place truly magical. This area of the city is protected so that you won’t see any vehicles in this area of the city. When we were getting dropped off at our hotel, the driver dropped us off as close as he could get us because of this law. It certainly helps keep the atmosphere of the Ancient town quiet and not so hectic.

Experience Lantern-lit Nights:

One of the most enchanting aspects of Hoi An is its lantern-lit nights. As the sun sets, the town comes alive with thousands of colorful lanterns illuminating the streets, riverbanks, and markets. Take a boat ride along the Thu Bon River to witness the mesmerizing spectacle of floating lanterns and immerse yourself in the warm glow. Trust me; it’s worth it!

Embark on a gastronomic adventure and sample local delicacies such as Cao Lau, a unique noodle dish, Banh Mi, and fresh seafood. Don’t forget to explore the vibrant Central Market, where you can try various delicious street food and shop for souvenirs. I picked up coffee here as a souvenir to take home!

Enhance your culinary experience by enrolling in a cooking class. Learn the art of Vietnamese cooking from skilled chefs, and discover the secrets behind crafting authentic dishes. You’ll have the chance to visit local markets to select fresh ingredients before creating your own mouthwatering meal.

Relax at An Bang Beach:

Escape the bustling streets and head to An Bang Beach, located just a short drive from the town center. This pristine beach offers a tranquil setting to unwind, sunbathe, and take a refreshing dip in the clear waters of the South China Sea. Many beachfront restaurants and bars serve delicious seafood, making it a perfect spot to savor a beachside meal.

Explore the My Son Sanctuary:

A short excursion from Hoi An will lead you to the ancient My Son Sanctuary, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This archaeological site showcases a collection of Hindu temples dating back to the Champa civilization, which flourished between the 4th and 14th centuries. The intricate carvings and architectural wonders testify to the region’s historical significance.
